One of the ways we are blessed here at NHCOC is in the area of leadership. We have faithful shepherds who love and care about your spiritual lives. But there is still more to learn and more to be challenged about, and they know that. But this weekend’s focus on leadership is not just for elders, preachers, ministers, and deacons. This weekend is for everyone. In some way or another, you are a leader. Whatever role, job, task, or opportunity you find yourself to serve in the Lord’s church is an opportunity to be a leader. Being an example of Christ to someone else might lead them to Christ. Your work teaching someone the gospel can lead them to salvation. Your working to help, serve, and volunteer in any way leads us all further down the path to pleasing God and growing the Kingdom. So, this weekend is specially designed to encourage and motivate us to be the best leaders we can be.
I’m so thankful we have Bob Turner with us. Bob was a church member at Greenbrier with his family (I grew up with his kids). Then, he went to preaching school at the Bear Valley Bible Institute of Denver. Then, he served as a missionary in Prince Rupert, Canada, and then moved back to be our preacher at Greenbrier when I was a teenager. Bob highly influenced me to be a preacher, too. He encouraged me to attend the future preacher’s training camp at Bear Valley and then supported me financially when I decided to go to school there, too. Bob is a leader and knows how to motivate other leaders. Bob knows how to influence people, and I am sure you will be influenced this weekend, too. But you gotta be here to see this for yourself.
See you tonight!
Alex
