I believe Bible classes play a significant role in fostering spiritual growth, community building, and a deeper understanding of faith. I love to teach and cannot imagine a time when I am not in the classroom teaching. It is by far my favorite yet challenging part of my ministry. Bible classes provide a platform for individuals to delve into the scriptures, discuss their beliefs, and seek spiritual enrichment. Educating people in Bible classes can be a fulfilling and transformative experience for both the learners and the teacher. But did you know that when I teach, I pray? Here is what I pray for:

  1. I pray for the Holy Spirit’s words to impact me in my personal life so that I am passionate about what I teach.
  2. I pray that I change my heart and my behavior when I learn something I did not know before or learn something that I need to change.
  3. I pray that I understand what the Scriptures teach and that I will NEVER take it out of context or try to stretch it to mean something that it does not.
  4. I pray that I will understand what the original readers understood.
  5. I pray that I will be able to communicate what I have learned in an effective way that the students in the class will be impacted to change their lives too.
  6. I pray that I teach in love and compassion and never judgmental or too critical.
  7. I pray that my students will be so excited with what they learned that they will want to share it with other people.
  8. I pray that not only will they want to share it but they actually will be bold enough to speak up and share it with others.
  9. I pray that the Scriptures will plant themselves in our hearts and that we will find comfort in God’s Word.
  10. I pray that God will always give me the courage to speak the truth in love and that my students will listen with understanding.

I hope with the POWER found in these prayers that God will forever change our hearts and minds to live in a way that is in line with His will for our lives.

Will you pray with me?

I love you,

Alex Mills
