Many of us are very familiar with the time that Jesus said “Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s” (Luke 20:25). Most of the time we look at this verse to show that paying taxes and such to the government is not against the will of God. After all, money comes from and is regulated by the government, so we should render unto the government what is the government’s.
But we are also commanded to render unto God what is God’s. So what is God’s?
Your blessings: “Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.” James 1:17
Your body: “Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.” 1 Cor 6:19-20.
Your life: “All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being. In Him was life, and the life was the Light of men.” John 1:3-4
We are indebted to God for so much; everything actually. All things are His right down to the very breath we are taking. Today, render unto God what is God’s.
